Blue Ridge Panoramas | Hot Tub | Game Room | Hiking Trails

Set against a backdrop of the rolling Blue Ridge, this elegant cabin is one of five multi-generational getaways on 25 wooded acres in Black Mountain. Enjoy a front row seat to Mount Mitchell, the highest peak east of the Mississippi.

From its handcrafted details (think sassafras bed frames and rough-hewn log construction) to its secret outdoor spots (like a mountain-view fire pit and a private hot tub), every inch of Mitchell View will bring you a little bit of joy.

Greet the morning on an expansive deck and watch the sun peek up over distant ridges. Then prepare a hearty breakfast feast for your crew in a country-style kitchen. Serve it in an open dining area while you plot your day’s adventures.

Not even rain can ruin your fun here: just put a movie on the flat-screen TV, cozy up to the stone fireplace, and admire storm clouds rolling in over the mountains. As for the little ones—they could spend hours facing off on the air-hockey table.

When it comes to evening relaxation, bring a glass of wine out to the bubbling hot tub or wager a friendly bet at the cards and bumper pool table in the downstairs game room.

Accommodate 10 guests in total comfort with:

- Queen-size master bedroom ( on main floor ) with direct deck access

- Kid-friendly lofted bedroom with two twin trundles ( total of 4 twin beds )

- Full bath between them with shower/tub combination

- Intimate downstairs bedroom with KING-size bed

- Second bathroom with shower/tub combination on main floor

- Queen-size sofa bed in game room

You'll have all the comforts of home, too, from a washer and dryer to free Wi-Fi.

Postcard-perfect panoramas await on the spacious deck. Just bring your morning coffee or evening cocktail to the rocking chairs for front row seats to Mount Mitchell. Or sink into the hot tub and admire the rolling Blue Ridge (an especially enchanting experience during fall foliage season or a winter snow).

Meals in the mountains are best enjoyed alfresco—fire up the grill and prepare a feast while the rest of the group plays yard games or simply soaks in the sunshine.

When you’re ready to stretch your legs, bring the kids (and pup—this getaway is dog-friendly!) for a hike on the trails along Glade Creek. End your day of adventure with chit-chat around the campfire and under the stars.

Awesome Mountain Retreat

Like most people, we have had 2020 plans disrupted due to COVID. After many canceled plans, we started looking into options we could drive to to get away, yet remain socially distanced and responsible during this time. What a gem the High Rock Rentals are! The cabin is beautiful and well stocked. We have been to rentals that have included only the bare minimum. This place had plenty of towels, paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, detergent, and even stacks of fire wood. The house was also very clean, which we appreciated. The views from the cabin were incredible, with Mount Mitchell (what the cabin is named for) being the main view. The only thing that I would say, is the drive up once you get off 9 is gravel steep, and a little rough at times. We had an SUV and a car and had no issues, but some might not like it. Overall, I would definitely recommend these cabins and hope can we can go back again.

Thank you! Just to confirm, two wheel drive works fine and part of the journey up the gravel road to the resort is part of the typical safe mountain experience in arriving at your destination!

Awsome Stay

Awesome cabin very secluded. Really enjoyed our stay. Don’t use Waze But use google maps. Spend some time down in the town as there are great shops and places to eat.

Thank you. Hope you make it back soon!
